Description

We Like Space will convert your carbon-based taste buds into pure energy and beam your consciousness to unknown worlds! The flavor of this high-gravity, fluffy-soft brew is like drinking the nectar from an interstellar pineapple while sitting on a beach of turquoise sand, watching sanguine waves crash and recede against the backdrop of a binary sunset. Travelers beware this quasar quenching Hazy Double IPA. Journey too close and it will trap your senses in orbit, slowly pulling you beyond the event horizon to a point where your desire for beer becomes a singularity.

With a 12 oz payload of Citra®, El Dorado, and Mosaic®, We Like Space is one of our most highly-hopped recipe kits. Extremely tropical, with notes of passion fruit, mango, citrus, and pineapple. A heavy helping of Flaked Oats provides a full body and creamy texture, fine-tuned by a late boil addition of maltodextrin.

The out-of-this-world graphic is as much of an inside joke as the name itself. After a long brainstorm of potential beer names, the resulting list had an overwhelming theme of sci-fi and astronomical references. When a coworker remarked that the names didn't make sense, noticing that there were no additions of Galaxy or Comet, our intrepid kit developers looked at one another, shrugged, looked back at their coworker and said flatly "We like space."

Please Note: In order to better serve our customers, we are now offering our extract recipe kits with either Liquid Malt Extract (LME) or Dried Malt Extract (DME). The majority of our DME kits were converted from the LME version, which is why you may notice slight variances in the extract names and quantities on your recipe sheet. You may also find that your Specific Gravity and ABV% are slightly higher if you choose DME. Whether LME or DME, add all extracts provided according to the recipe sheet. For further details, please reference the conversion chart below.

I do not have a whirlpool, when should I add hop additions?
David DaSilva on Dec 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You can whirlpool without having extra equipment. Just add the whirlpool hops after the boil completes and stir them in. I used a sous vide to maintain temperature and to create a constant flow of the wort.
Whirlpool - The instructions say to whirlpool 30 minutes after adding hops. Do you do this after the 60 minute boil or after 30 minutes of the 60 minute boil?
Rick Bill on Oct 24, 2020
BEST ANSWER: For a whirlpool you do not start counting until your boil has ended. Ideally you chill the wort to below 185 degrees before adding the whirlpool hops. This allows you to cook and develop the hops' flavors without getting bitterness. Some brewers keep their temperature above 170 to make sure it stays sterile the entire 30 minutes. Other brewers will just continue to chill their wort down to pitching temp during that time. Your mileage may vary, so try both ways and see how you like each technique. Cheers!
