Description

Looking for an easy to use pH meter at a great price? The Beverage Doctor is here to help you get your mashes to the perfect pH.

The Beverage Doctor will get you a very accurate reading with its 0.01 pH resolution. The calibration process couldn't be easier to perform, just place the probe in the buffer solution closest to pH of the sample you'll be testing and press the button! This pH meter also includes ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) so you don't have to get your sample all the way down to room temperature before you take your reading.

3-point calibration allows this unit to be calibrated at three different standard levels - 4.00, 6.86 or 9.18. These standards are included with the pH meter, and refill packs are also available.

The Beverage Doctor features a replaceable probe in case yours is lost or damaged. Homebrewing can be a tough environment for your pH probe so we feel you shouldn't have to buy a whole new pH meter everytime your probe breaks. The cap that holds the probe storage solution has a very tight seal and should prevent your probe from drying out while not in use. Don't worry about getting this meter wet either, because the entire unit is waterproof!

Features:

  • Replaceable probe
  • ATC (Automatic Temperature Control)
  • Waterproof
  • Accurate to 0.01 pH
  • Easy 3 point calibration
  • LR44/AG13 batteries included

Kegland Part Number: KL04169

Did a lot of research and it appears to meet all the specs as more expensive units plus has replacement probes. Many of the higher end brands have lower dollar pens but the probes are not replaceable.

Can I check my mash ph with or will it damage the probe?
Jason Ferreira on Feb 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: That is what this probe is designed for, but regardless of ATC (pH reading corrected for temp) it is recommended that measurements be taken at room temp-ish which allows for a more accurate reading and prolongs the life of the probe.
Does this item includes the replacement probe?
Mariana Benavides on Apr 19, 2021
BEST ANSWER: This comes with one probe. Replacement probe MT-624A is available here:

I see that the Beverage Doctor pH meter comes with 4.00 and 6.86 buffer solution powders for calibration. I have the premixed 4.00 and 7.00 calibration solutions - will the Beverage Doctor meter calibrate to the 7.00 solution or does it require the 6.86 solution?
Mike Williams on Apr 7, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It will. The calibration solution is made for that. Just keep in mind the solution has a shelf life. It will loose it’s strength in a couple of days. What I do is I got calibration solution 4.0 and 7.0 and. Storage solution from another seller and change it every 3-4 months. You should calibrate before every use “session” and use new storage solution every day. Thats for all kinds of pen style ph meter. This is a very good ph meter. Very accurate. Also, of you libe in a very hot place, keep the ph meter and solutions in the fridge to prolong their life.

pH meter Sky V
I was very pleased how my order was handled. I received the pH meter, well packaged and upon Checking the suppliers operating instructions and maintenance info was very pleased with the purchase. I expect to be using it in a few months with the grape crushing and fermentation process.

Confident on its accuracy.
The first meter I received was defective. I would not calibrate as per instructions it indicated the prob was bad. I asked MoreBeer to send me another prob. They stepped up and sent me another meter! The second one calibrated just fine at all calibration levels. So, hats off and a big thank you to customer service for their speed and generosity! I'm going to use the meter for wine making. Due to the design of the meter. It requires that the prob be stored in a storage solution, which I ordered with the meter. Unfortunately, it has a shelf life.. ie. it evaporates and crystallizes on the prob. So, MoreBeer should have a better inventory control and make sure the probs don't dry up. It would save them money by not having to replace the prob or whole meter. The second meter that was sent to me had dried up, I cleaned up the prob and let it set in storage solution overnight before I tested it and it payed off because it calibrated just fine.
Thanks again Morebeer for the great service!

Very handy pH meter
The Beverage Doctor pH meter is more robust and easier to calibrate than others I have used. It helps me to monitor the quality of my mash water, wort, sanitizers and cleaning solutions.

Never got it to work...
Never got this to work. Used the calibration solution and got it locked in there, but it gave me readings of around 2 for every wine. Distilled water gave me random readings from 5-7.

It came with a piece of foam on the sensor, that was clearly old and had fused to it, which I had to get off and it could be interfering. Not sure I can return this now that I calibrated it but it was pretty disappointed.
