Description

This versatile yeast ferments extremely well in dark worts. It is a good choice for most high gravity beers. Beers fermented in the lower temperature range produce a dry, crisp profile with subtle fruitiness. Fruit and complex esters will increase when fermentation temperatures are above 64°F (18°C).

Flocculation: Medium
Attenuation: 71-75%
Temperature Range: 62-72F, 16-22C
Alcohol Tolerance: 12% ABV

What is the shelve life of this yeast?
david allred on Nov 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Around 6 months, but check the expiration date on the bag and use before that date. If it's been refrigerated, even a few months longer.
"This versatile yeast ferments extremely well in dark worts." What does this mean, exactly?
AJ T on May 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi AJ - The yeast works well in porters, stouts, etc. (dark beers).

Great In Irish Reds
I love using this yeast in my Irish Red recipe. Gives an authentic flavor and lets the toasty and caramel notes come through.

Favorite Yeast For Stouts
I've brewed a few different stout recipes using this yeast and have been very happy with all of them. This yeast really gives a nice balance to a stout and just enough yeast character to let you know it's there. It doesn't over attenuate your stout which really adds to the nice full mouth feel that I enjoy, but still has a crisp finish. If you like rich full bodied stouts, this is a yeast you should try.

First liquid will never go back
Used with an Irish red being my first time using liquid yeast i did not know what to expect. It swelled up after only 3 hours and added far more complex flavor to the beer my previous batches with dry yeast could not compare too

This is my go-to yeast when I brew an Irish Red. Clean, ferments well, clears up like a ruby.

Will use again
I used this on an Oatmeal Stout and was very stoked with the outcome. Gave an outstanding dry mouth feel that really changed one of my longtime recipes for the better. If you ever want to change up a stout recipe, definitely give this a go.

Fantastic Yeast
Brewed an Irish Red, that actually turned brown because I messed-up the grain bill, but flavor is excellent. Will use this yeast again !

Stout
I just used this and drank my first glass of stout tonight. It has great flavor. I have used four different yeast in the same basic stout recipe and this is by far my favorite. It came in a smack pack that swelled quickly. I had strong fermentation within 12 hours. I will use it again.
