Unique to MoreBeer!, we offer our Chillus Convolutus Wort Chiller with threaded 1/2" fittings on the in and the out. This make connecting with pipe fittings, qd's or tric-clamp possible. We consider it a must have upgrade on our brewing systems and most customers agree.

The inner tube is made from 12' of 5/8" convoluted (twisted) copper which continually turbulates the wort as it flows through. The outer tube is made from 7/8" copper. The Convolutus counterflow chiller allows you to pump wort through without having to restrict your pump to slow down flow. Use 1/2" line to connect to wort in and out feeds. The water connections are male and female 3/4" hose connections.

10 1/4" height by 11" overall diameter (coils themselves are about 6" in diameter)

Immersion Chiller to Counterflow Chiller
5 stars for sure. This is very easy to use and keep sanitized. Nothing against a immersion chilling but this is way more user friendly.

Best chiller
I've tried a bunch of different chiller methods and this chiller is by far the best chiller for my brewery. I love it and highly recommend this one!

The way to go!
I have gone back and forth with every cooling method known. Immersion coils work great and are self sanitizing but they interfere with the whirlpooling and they are hard to use with electric elements. Plate chillers also work great if you dont plug them up. They are difficult to clean and hard to tell if they are sanitized. For efficiency and ease of use and cleaning, it is hard to beat the counterflow chiller with convoluted tubing.

Fast cooling and high quality
This is superior to the cheaper copper coils that you place in your hot wort.

This cooler cools my wort from 212F to 94F in about 5 mins using about 15 gallons of tap water. A pump is nice to control flow but gravity will work very well too.

Requires cleaning before and after each brew.

Chillus Convolutus Duallus. The way to finish a session
I use two Convolutus chillers in series. They work phenomenal. Check out the video:

Buy it now
Spent the last couple years with a plate chiller. I forgot what an actual whirlpool looks like! No more clogging. Pitching temp in ten minutes. I wish I would have gotten one years ago.

Connected the wort in series and the water in parallel.
One worked great, but it still took 26 minutes to chill 11 gallons. I didn't like waiting after a long day of brewing. The results are fantastic. Cut the time exactly in half; by my calculations (shaky) 5 tons of chilling capacity.
