Description

WLP648 is a true strain of Brettanomyces bruxellensis. Vrai is a French word that means “true” the perfect word for this infamous strain. Used for all-Brettanomyces fermentations, WLP648 offers up a robust, complex sour character with aromas of pear. Best used as a primary fermentation strain.

Use WLP648 for Flanders Brown (Oud bruin), Flanders Red, Gose, Geuze, Lambic and Berliner Weisse beers.

  • Optimum Fermentation Temp: 70–85°F
  • Flocculation: Low
  • Attenuation: 85%
  • Alcohol Tolerance: Medium to High (8–12%)
  • Cell Count: 100+ Billion
