Description

The easiest hand corker to operate. The only disadvantage is that the push down mechanism is of a thinner diameter, so it imprints the cork with a circular mark. The hand corker that we choose to use.

*Note: This corker can be used with most style of corks, however is more likely to imprint synthetic corks.

doesnt push the cork all the way in
if you lean on it, you can get the corks pretty far in, but I was unsuccessful in getting ANY of my bottles corked all the way in.
Nimar A is right, this corker is fundamentally flawed. I would not recommend.

Works great, if you push the cork down into the chamber a bit!
Had issues with a few corks sticking out farther than I expected, but then I figured out that I needed to compress the cork down into the chamber a little more. Once I did that, everything was great!

Doesn't punch all the way down
This corker has a fatal design flow, which prevents it from working properly. The plastic grippers that are supposed to hold the bottle while the cork is being punched in have little or no friction. As a result, the corker rises up just when the last bit of the cork is being pushed in, and the cork doesn't go all the way in.

I can assure you that a cork with 1/2 inch hanging out looks really ugly!! This spoils the whole finished look of the bottle, and looks even worse when you put the heat sleeve on.

I have tried this corker with different corks -- Aglica as well as natural grade 3 corks -- with identical results. It doesn't matter whether the bottle is empty or full.

The only thing that helps slightly is if two people operate this corker. One person operating down the lever and the other person pushing down the central core against the bottle. But it only helps slightly, the cork goes a little further in but it still looks unsightly.

I have tried with simple manual corkers, and they easily punch the corks all the way in. The only problem with those corkers is that your elbow might hurt if you cork more than a couple bottles at a time !!

I'm going to try the table (bench) corker, and see how it goes.
