The perfect pump for use after fermentation.

Why this is a Great Pump:

  • Self-Priming
  • Heat Tolerant materials to 212°F when used with Silicone tubing
  • Speed Control!

Gentle Diaphragm Design

Self Priming: This pump is capable of pumping gasses, meaning that pumping does not require priming! This makes transfers between carboys or kegs incredibly easy. Simply put both inlet and outlet hoses in a bucket of sanitizer and run the pump for a minute. You're then good to transfer your beer with your sanitized pump!

PreFilter This pump comes with a built in prefilter. This is something which is almost necessary on diaphragm pumps, as the diaphragm itself is very delicate, and can be ruined by small solids. The prefilter included on this pump will work to keep solids out of the pump, extending the working life of the unit.

Heat Tolerant: All materials used in the construction of the pump tolerate temperatures up to 212°F when used with heat tolerant tubing such as silicone.  Because the pump comes with vinyl tubing you would need to replace that tubing with silicone.

Speed Control: Perhaps the most unique feature is a dial control to adjust flow from 0 to 3 gallons per minute. Use it to send your wort from the kettle to the fermenter, or even after fermentation to send beer through a plate filter (such as our FIL45).

Gentle on your Beer: A diaphragm pump works by moving beer through one pulsating diaphragm into the next. It is a design that is very gentle on the liquid being pumped.

When this pump was first introduced to us, we loved the idea, but had concerns that the speed control would compromise the longevity of the motor. We build much larger pumps (our ChunkyPumps for commercial wineries) and normally you need a $700 frequency drive to control motor speed. However, we kept in touch with the manufacturer and after three years in which he has not had any issues, and after our own testing, we are now sold this pumps performs as promised. The manufacturer does offer a 1 year warranty as well.

  • This pump comes with 1/2" barbed ports for easy connectivity.
  • Comes with 6' tubing on both sides.
  • 110 Volts, 0.5 Amp, 60 Hz.

It looks like a pump that will be easy on my wine and it got great reviews. I love the variable speeds which will allow me transfer from a carboy (at lower speed) vs a large tank.

It says in the product description that the pump can handle liquid temps up to 212F with silcone tubing, but the instruction manual says that liquid temps shouldn't exceed 130F. Can this pump handle temps up to 212 with proper hosing?
Bill Rittenour on Feb 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, as long as you replace the tubing that comes with the pump with tubing that can handle over 212 degrees.
I used my pump for the first time to move ten gallons of beer to the kegs and it foamed up bad I’m afraid that this batch will be oxidized. Is there a fix for the foaming problem?
Russell Chance on Jul 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Russel - Sorry for your loss. It seems best to have the pump ABOVE volumes of liquid being moved. Allowing the diaphragm to fully prime the pump and head without air-bubbles trapped during transfer.

wine pump
Seems cheap and rinky dink. Did the job but rattled and wheezed increasingly as we went along. Don’t buy it.

Transfer Pump
Only used it once for wine transfer and worked well. I wish that the hoses were a bit more flexible for storage purpose.

Great build, good flow control, works well!
This is a fantastic pump. Bought it last year to move 60 gallons of wine from secondary to barrel for aging. Worked amazing. After using an impeller pump for years, the self-priming feature of a diaphragm pump is awesome.
The variable speed flow control works really well and gives you lots of control. I didn't have any issue removing the filter housing as other have reported. The supplied wrench worked well. Overall a really great pump, beats the heck out of a siphone.

Works very well
The pump makes it very quick and easy to rack wine into new carboys. Make sure you purchase the wrench and watch all videos offered by the pup maker online. Also order a racking wand.

Used it to rack 5 30 gallon barrels. Worked great, was able to turn the speed way down where it was almost like a gravity rack.

Nice pump
I have only used it twice so far and it works great. I really like the variable speed. I found the adjustment range is a little small but you get used to it and now I ok with it. Clean up is easy. The quick connections work great.

Variable Speed Transfer Pump
This pump works very well. I've used it three times now. I have learned to have both the fermenter and the carboy lower than the transfer pump. The last time the fermenter was on the counter with the transfer pump and the carboy on the floor. What happened was the air in the pump head and filter was never complete expelled, and I had a constant aeration of the wine. This is a much faster way of transferring wine, and I may want to come up with an adapter for the siphon hose to keep it off the bottom of the fermentator so less trash is pulled in.

How did I go without
I thought about ordering this for a while until I spoke with a friend of mine who had one. He said how wonderful it was so I decided to order it finally. I am so glad that I did because it made the entire racking process so much easier! You can get a very precise top off with the variable speed. One tip I would give is to get a piece of 3/4" PVC pipe with a cap on the end and then drill some holes up off the bottom a little. Then slip the heavy wall suction tube down into the pipe. This make it so easy to stay off the bottom the perfect height and also makes it rigid like a cane because the suction tube fits snugly into the pipe. Love this pump and if you're thinking of ordering, just do it because I know you'll be satisfied.
