Set your sights on a brand new Torpedo Keg! The patented, D794,889, sleek all-stainless design represents a new era of homebrew kegs. With features like welded stainless handles, the ability to stack with fittings in place, amazing quality and a great price we think these kegs will become the standard by which other kegs are measured.

Quality First
The first thing we at MoreBeer! check out is interior welds. We've spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. These kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. The weld quality is possible because these kegs made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. In and Out is etched near the keg posts for easy identification which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.

Overall for the price and quality, along with free shipping from MoreBeer!, the Torpedo Keg is an amazing value!

Taking your keg on the go? Don't leave home without a custom fitted Torpedo Keg Sleeve!

Do these kegs require a first time "deep clean", for example with TSP? Should they be passivated with Star San before first use?
John P Buckles on May 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It's always a good idea to do a thorough cleaning and inspection of all new equipment for brewing. There is a chance of oils or things from manufacturing remaining on the stainless. In our experience you shouldn't need to go above and your normal cleaning regimen or passivate them unless you encounter a troubling spot, which if so our CS team is always around to assist you with any concerns or needs.
What is the actual volume of the 5 gallon keg (not the nominal volume which is 5 gallons)? How does it compare to a traditional ball lock 5 gallon keg? Do the slimline and regular torpedo kegs have the same actual volume?

BEST ANSWER: After purchasing several of these, I made some measurements of the capacity of two "5 gallon" slimline kegs using a high quality calibrated graduated cylinder. Sadly, in each case the total capacity (to the rim) is only 4.845 US gallons, which means a practical operating capacity of something like 4.75 gallons or less. If you are expecting to keg 5 gallons, you're going to be at least a couple of pints short in each keg.
Do u need an adapter to hook up to a normal kegerator if so what is it called?
Matt Mcdonald on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If your kegerator is fitted with a commercial sanke tap, then yes. They require Ball Lock disconnects. These should match up with your existing hosing if so.

Are these kegs shipped with any type of protective packaging? I have seen several reviews saying that people received them with scratches and dents.
Gerrod McKnight on Feb 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I received two kegs today. They were covered with a super thin plastic cover and put inside a a box. Both the kegs have many scratches (I haven't inspected them yet for any dents). They are not packed in any kind of protective packaging, not even a thin bubble wrap.

i'm done with plastic water bottles and jugs for drinking water...i ended up drilling a hole at the bottom of this torpedo keg and installed a spigot for a water tank in my van, i'm super happy with how it turned out...
these torpedo kegs make great van life water tanks, just add a spigot and taste the goodness...

Makes me happy looking at it.
Came pressurized so I knew seals are good, was clean so just needed basic clean and sanitize, welds looked smooth.
I currently have my first kegged beer in it and carbonating.

Big quality upgrade compared to my old soda keg. I am kicking myself a little for not going with the slimline version, though.

Torpedo keg
I was up in air on whether or not to buy the cheaper refurbished soda kegs. However I liked the look of the torpedo kegs, they are considerably more expensive, but I think the look great and feel great. So far they have held pressure perfect and I have been pouring beer for a couple weeks now

A mini keg with all the bells and whistles
There seem to be two schools of thought on small kegs - the simple KegLand option, which sacrifices standard parts for a sleek form factor and simpler lid, and this, which is basically what it looks like - a small keg with a standard keg lid and posts.

And while I intend to buy a few of the former, there's a lot to be said for the standard option. A ready supply of post and o ring replacements, a whole host of youtube videos and advice articles that apply to this thing, and some smaller perks like a wide opening for dry hopping etc, and a sturdy form factor that would be next to impossible to accidentally knock down

Further, these in particular are beautifully made - I have little to say beyond that they work perfectly. The finish is pleasantly smooth, there aren't sharp edges...I don't know, it's simply made well. It feels like one of the nicer homebrew things I own despite being actually one of the cheapest, all said and done

Point being, if you had any doubts, let me assuage them: if you need a keg, buy this and you will 100% be happy you did
