Description

This carboy thermowell is used in conjunction with the Digital Controller, FE601A, FE610A, or FE602, to more accurately regulate internal temperature during fermentation. It is exceptionally useful during the start of fermentation when the lag between ambient temperature in the refrigerator and actual temperature in the carboy can vary greatly. Now you can keep your beer or wine within one degree of the set point on your digital controller. Designed to fit either 3, 5, 6 or 6.5 gallon glass carboys or any other similarly sized opening hole. The unit comes with an 15" stainless steel thermowell and a #6.5 stopper that will accommodate our sanitary filter, FIL90, as well. It can be used in any container with a stopper opening of this size where you need to accurately monitor and control liquid temperature.

Will not work with Johnson Temperature Controllers (FE600 or FE611) because the probes are too large.

Anyone know if this will work with an 7.5 gallon Anvil Brew Bucket? I’ve read that the stopper size is #7, but don’t see one of those available here.
Adam Norman on Jan 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Adam - Unfortunately we do not offer a thermowell with a stopper small enough to fit in the Brew Bucket's hole. You could try the attached item but it would require drilling a hole into the bucket.

Will this work with Inkbird itc-308s controller (FE640)?
Kevin Hoppes on Jan 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Kevin - Unfortunately the itc-308 controller is only compatible with FE601A, FE610A, or FE602.

Much better than the silicon stoppers available elsewhere. Stays in place and seals well.

Works fine
I've used this product for several years and I am glad More-Beer sells a replacement stopper. After 6 years the old stopper was more than ready to be replaced. I use a STC-1000 probe and in addition to using it for fermentation control, I use the SS probe in by mash tun and boil kettle through holes drilled in their lids - very convenient. I just bought a second to use in a 30 L Speidel fermenter.

Works fine
I use this in my fermenator in the standard airlock hole. I use a 90 degree plastic barb to run a blowoff hose. The only issue is the ranco probe was a little big for the thermowell. But I used a fine sandpaper to shave down the probe and it fits and works perfectly now.
