Description

An insulated, stainless steel Mashtun for hombrewing that will keep your mash at the temperature you set. Retains an amazing amount of heat since it is double walled with a layer of insulation between the two stainless walls. Unlike insulated plastic cooler the InfuSsion Mashtun is made of food safe stainless steel so you have no worries about the effect of heat on plastic.  With cool features like an integrated center drain port, gasketed false bottom setup, etched volume markers, stainless hardware, and a digital thermometer, this is the ultimate mashtun!

When Ss Brewtech tested against similar sized plastic cooler mash tuns, the Infussion dropped 5° F less over the course of a 60 minute mash. The center draining conical bottom vessel silicon gasketed false bottom minimizes the amount of water under the screen, what many brewers refer to as dead space, and allows for great efficiency. One of our favorite features is the simplest...the internal volume markers rid you forever of having to use a ruler to calculate the right amount of mash water.

This is a great addition to any brewery, and with the additional upgrade kits in the pipeline like a Sparging System, Heating & Temp Control System the InfuSsion Mashtun will become of your favorite pieces of equipment for years to come!

Features:

  • 10 gallon capacity
  • Internal Volume Markers
  • Recirculation Bulkhead included
  • Foam insulated Dual Wall 304 SS with excellent heat retention!
  • Thermowell included
  • Precision LCD thermometer
  • Foam insulated lid reduces heat loss
  • False Bottom with removable Silicone Gasket
  • Silicone handles for safety also act as a lid hanger
  • Temperature proof - never worry about leaching chemicals from plastic
  • Wall thickness is nearly an inch of dual layered steel and insulation.
  • PLEASE NOTE: These cannot be used in direct-fire applications. Do not use over a burner!

Does this include a recirc hole predrilled? According to the Ss Brewtech website, that is only true for their 20 gallon mash tuns. Can someone please confirm?
Lauren Dunnevant on Feb 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Lauren - Yes that is correct, the 20gal mash tun is the only tun with a recirc port pre-drilled.
Good evening, I want to use my 10 Gal Ss Infussion Mash Tun with recirculation. Just to be sure: To use the manifold (image 2) i have to install the bulkhead (image 3) and this supplement of image 4 on the inside part. Can I install a 1/2 FPT x 1/2 Barb (image 5) on the other side to connect the 1/2 silicone hose that comes from a pump. Or better asked: Are both threads of this bulkhead 1/2 MPT?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can use the 1/2 FPT x 1/2 Barb on the outside to connect the silicone hose. However, the inner thread of the bulkhead is not the same as on the outside and the 1/2 barb won't fit there. I am also not quite sure how you are going to use the manifold while having a full tun.

Mash Tun
Awesome product! I primed the tun with boiling water first and let that sit for about 30 min. Once the strike water was in it held temperature very well didnt budge. My only grudge is with the digital thermometer, it’s terrible. I will be ordering an analog thermometer to replace it.

Retains Heat Well
Mash temperature dropped 1°F after 90 minutes. Very nice. Handles are awkwardly located but no big deal. The rubber feet on the bottom are constantly coming loose when cleaning or moving around during initial setup. Screw in feet would have been a much better design. Thermometer is extremely slow to register temp changes, causing step mash regimens to be prolonged due to having to wait so long to be sure you hit the right temp. Thermometer is also very accurate. Overall very pleased and considering purchasing it's bigger brother.

Great mash tun...make sure you preheat as suggested.
Preheat the mash Tun with a few gallons of boiling water, then mash in a usual....lost less than one degree over an hour. Easy to clean, and well built. A HUGE improvement over the plastic cooler when you're ready for a step up.

Excellent product
My only complaint is the rubber feet are a bad choice. They fall out all the time if you push the mash tun a little. They should have used feet with screws or studs but other than that it's a great product.

Love it!
Pre heated, calculated strike temp and lost maybe 6/10ths of a degree in an hour. Amazing.

Great Quality Product
Overall I'm pretty happy with the infusion mash tun. You will have to adjust your strike water temperature though as this mash tun pulls a lot more heat away than regular cooler will. I use it with a HERMS setup and it works great.

Rockin’ Fun with my mash tun!
This is a great mash tun. It holds its temperature for a long time! Can’t wait to hook up a HERMS coil to my HLT and start step mashing with it.

This is THE mash tun to have
This has taken my brew room to a different level in brewing. The false bottom is THE best part of the engineering. It is secure and traps ALL of the grains away from the brew.
