Torpedo Kegs too wide? Want to squeeze another keg in your kegerator? The patented design, D794,889, of the new Slimline Torpedo Keg is 9% more slim than the classic model with all the same great features. Coming in at about 1/4" thinner than standard Ball Lock Cornelius Kegs, this keg has welded stainless handles and the ability to stack kegs with fittings still in place all at a great price.

Quality First
Here at MoreBeer! we love nothing more than quality interior welds. We've spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. Torpedo kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. This weld quality is possible because these kegs are made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. “In” and “Out” is etched near the keg posts for easy identification which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.

Overall for the price and quality, along with free shipping from MoreBeer!, the Torpedo Keg is an amazing value!

Never had one. So I thought I would give it a try. I've been using Corny type kegs and I've noticed over time that their manufacturing depending on where in the world its been manufactured have been getting worse. I also like the idea of being able to stack these.

Wll the slimline versions stack on a regular size torpedo Keg and or vice Versa?
Chris Sager on Jan 20, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Chris - The Slimline Torpedo kegs are compatible with other Slimline Torpedo kegs but will not be compatible with the regular Torpedo kegs, vice versa.
What is the actual volume of the 5 gallon keg (not the nominal volume which is 5 gallons)? How does it compare to a traditional ball lock 5 gallon keg? Do the slimline and regular torpedo kegs have the same actual volume?

BEST ANSWER: Hello Kevin,
My experience with these kegs is that the volume of beer that goes in the Torpedo keg is no difference that I can tell from filling a standard five gallon old fashion soda keg. The only difference I have noticed is that the attachments to the physical keg not the gas or liquid lines, of the line in and line out vales is different that the soda kegs. Not an issue or problem. I hope this answers you question.
Happy Kegging,

Are these kegs made in the usa?
Richard Hartford on Mar 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Richard - These kegs are made in China.
What is the exact stacked height of two 2.5 gal slimline torpedo kegs?
Max Rudolph on Nov 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The exact height within tape measure tolerance is 30-3/8" .
does anyone know what size posts these kegs have? I need to replace the gas side? thanks!
Tim Goodman on Jan 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The posts on the Torpedo kegs are the same that fit on standard Corny ball lock kegs. The post measures 19/32" in diameter with 18 pitch threads. The part number for the gas in post is KEG460N.

Slightly more expensive but worth it for the lack of hassle. These just work.
I expected some issue based on what people where saying about early examples of these kegs. I was very pleased to receive a product with fantastic fit and finish. This is the best keg I have, the others being cheap Chinese new manufacture kegs off eBay (junk) and new manufacture kegs from northern Brewer from before they got bought out. This is an easy 5/5 would recommend from me.

Slimline Torpedo Keg
I bought this keg for fermentation vessel because of the size to fit in my fermentation freezer alongside other kegs I have. I wish I had found this keg before I started kegging. Good construction and I love the handles. This slim size though not a huge difference is sweet. If I purchase any more kegs in the future it will be this one.

Different sizes makes it not just great for beer, but a great tool for cleaning
I purchased both the 1.5 and 2.5 versions about 6 months ago.

My goal was to be able to transport smaller batches to events and not risk waste of a 5gal keg when only 1-2 gallons would be consumed.

Kegs are very well made and totally impressed.

In addition to using for beer, these have really changed my cleaning and sanitizing process.
- the 1.5 gallon is perfect for StarSan to prep my Blichman Quick Carb, prime my filter setup and prepare transfer tubing for racking)
- I have a 4 head kegerator and putting PBW in the 1.5 and StarSan in the 2.5 is a great way to do monthly beer line cleaning w/o making a mess or wasting water and sanitizer.
-- prime each line by pumping through 200-300ml of PBW solution.
-- wait 10/15 minutes with PBW in the lines to remove all build up.
-- Flush with 400/500ml of Starsan
-- Boom! Pristine lines

I also use either as ad hoc sanitizer with picnic tap, great for rinsing gear, filling rinse/spray bottles (removes foam) and keeps for days/weeks under minimal CO2 pressure.
