Description

In the past decade Simcoe® hops have become somewhat of a darling in both craft and home brewing. True dual purpose application lets Simcoe® offer a well rounded addition to just about any recipe. Smooth bitterness is met with aromas of earth, citrus (grapefruit), and cannabis. Try it in IPAs, Wheats, Saisons, and Amber Ales.

Whole cone hops are typically the preffered format for dry hopping as they maintain contact with the beer by floating, they are easier to remove than pellets and they add a unique character to the beer. Adding whole cone hops directly to the mash tun is also a great way to add flavor and clarify your wort.

Simcoe Whole Cone Hops
My system works best with whole hops in the boil. I love Simcoe but can't grow them. The beer I made with these hops is conditioning right now, but I expect will be 7.0 ABV and very dry. I made 20 gallons and will dry hop 15 gallons using some of the Simcoe hops.

Great hops but prefer the pellets
The Simcoe whole hops were full and well-packaged. I used them in a New England IPA, but overall, I prefer the pellet hops. The whole leaf hops absorb a large amount of wort, and thy are much harder to handle than the pellets.
