Description

Verdant IPA yeast is highly versatile and well suited for NEIPAs, Hazy IPAs, English IPAs and Bitters, American Pale Ales, Stouts, and many other beer styles. Specially selected in collaboration with Verdant Brewing Co. in the UK for its ability to produce a wide variety of hop-forward and malty beers. Prominent notes of apricot and undertones of tropical fruit and citrus merge seamlessly with hop aromas. With medium-high attenuation, LalBrew® Verdant IPA leaves a soft and balanced malt profile with slightly more body than a typical American IPA yeast strain.

Beer Styles: NEIPA, Hazy IPA, English IPA, American Pale, English Bitter, Sweet Stout, Sours
Aroma: Apricot with notes of tropical fruit and citrus
Attenuation: Medium to High
Fermentation Range: 64-73°F (18-23°C)
Flocculation: Moderate
Alcohol Tolerance: 10% ABV

It's a dry version of London Ale III
So impressed! It's great to finally have a dry version of London Ale III. This is cheaper and more convenient than keeping a beloved liquid pack of London Ale III or Omega British V alive and viable. I made an Irish Red ale with it. I've brewed this recipe 4+ times with liquid Brit V yeast from Omega. This batch made with Verdant IPA was every bit as good and tasted just like it should. Great yeast. Has a permanent spot in my dry yeast bank now.

Aggressive fermentation!
We used a single pouch of Verdant IPA yeast in a 5 gallon batch of pale ale with OG of 1066. It ferments as fast and aggressively as a Kveik, but at 65F. Within 12 hours of pitching there was a rapid convection current visible in the fermenter. Within 24 hours it had blown the bung out of the fermenter and spread yeast over the table. Fermentation finished in 4 days, and if my calcs are right it achieved over 80% attenuation for a very dry pale ale with pleasant fruit notes from the yeast.

My goto ipa yeast. Fast at normal temps.
Fast at normal temps. Use this yeast often and the flavor, speed of fermentation and reliability have made it a favorite for ipa.

Great for British style IPA
This is a malt forward IPA yeast that results in a full-bodied IPA Probably not the yeast to use if you are looking for a clean, crisp finish, like two-hearted ale. I will definitely use it again.

Great NEIPA yeast
Great dry yeast choice for hazy ipa. Takes off within hours and can be at FG within a week (although it’s good to employ a diacetyl rest with this strain) First generations have higher attenuation, around 80-83 percent, so be prepared for that. Esters are very fruity - strong apricot notes that play well with many types of hops.

Fast, poor flocculation, Not sure I like the flavor
Brewed 15 gallons, used two packs of yeast in a 4L starter. Fermentation started almost immediately, was done in about 60 hours at 67 degrees. For me it finished a few SG points higher than normal, and the beer was very cloudy even after a normal cold crash period prior to emptying the fermenter. Don't think I'll use it again unless the flavor really knocks me out. I didn't love the flavor in the hydrometer tube sample I tasted.
