Our Imperial Stout recipe is one big daddy! A huge beer that features nearly 18 lbs of grain. Features Crystal, Chocolate, Roasted Barley and Black Patent. This Imperial Stout recipe makes an excellent beer for sipping in front of the fire. Ages for a long, long time eventually gaining some Port like flavors.

Any suggestions on mash time, 60 minutes? 90 minutes?

BEST ANSWER: Hello Rick,
I did a 60 minute mash. However I normally do a pretty slow spare which has helped my starting gravity quite a bit. Also, you may consider adding air to your wort just prior to pitching your yeast. This has helped my attenuation greatly. Good luck and have fun.

Delicious robust flavor, gets better with age!
This is a really nice beer! Best to let it age for a few months (goes without saying, I know). Try putting it on oak chunks that have been soaked in bourbon for an extra treat!

This was my first all grain batch and it came out amazing. This is a fantastic recipe. Highly recommended. I used Wyeast (British) - 1098

Fantastic Beer
I tried this beer 1-month after brewing it and I thought it was a dumper. I pulled it off the tap rotation and left it in the corner to age for 6-months. After 6-months I was shocked at how much this beer improved. Roasty, malty, dark fruits with very little alcohol bite. Everyone who tries this beer can't believe how good it is. Definitely buy this kit and age it for at least 6-months before drinking. 12-months would be even better. This beer will now be in my regular rotation.

I've brewed this kit numerous times and have always had great results! A smooth, well balanced stout thats always a pleaser!

Great Recipe. I will brew this one again. This beer is huge. It has a big grain bill, making it a great value. Be patient and condition this one.

great beer
This beer is very good iv brewed it 2 times now the first time I stuck to the recipe and aged it for 6 months the 2nd time I aged it on the vinilla beans for 8 months and wow you cant even taste any alchole but you can feel it after about 2 pints very good beer
