If you’re tired of wasting time stirring your wort chiller to speed up the cooling process, you might want to try recirculation instead. This Immersion Chiller features a recirculation arm soldered to our popular WC45 SuperChiller, making the best-selling chiller even more effective than ever before. Recirculating you wort can also bring out more hop flavor and wonderful aromas in your IPAs, which is something that every brewer can appreciate.

This Immersion Chiller features ½ inch FPT fitting on the recirculation arm to accommodate a barb, a nipple, or a quick disconnect fitting for more customized connections and easier attachments. Its water inlet is ¾ inch female garden hose thread, while the water outlet is ¾ inch male garden hose thread. This makes it easy to attach the chiller to just about any common water source. immersion wort chiller
cut my chill down time in half, plus the added benefit of hopping in a whirlpool.

leaky compression fittings
Did a test run the day before brewing after cleaning with tsp. Both of the compression fittings had a slight leak which would have been dripping into my wort while chilling. After wrapping the threads with tape and still leaking, I called a plumber who told me to wipe some pipe dope on the compression ring. That worked for those of you who experience the same difficulties. It did chill my 7 gallons of wort in 15 minutes using a homemade pre chiller. Would give a higher rating if it did not leak. They should have done a leak test before shipping to retailers. I would not hire those people to do any plumbing on my house.

Great chiller although I would probably not get the whirlpool arm
I love this chiller. It drops 7 gallons of wort from boiling to under 80*F in about 12 minutes with ground water in the high 70's. I will probably add a prechiller to get it in the 60s but that's an issue of my water temp, not the chiller. The only thing I would probably change is the whirlpool arm. It is hard to get the whirlpool arm pointed in the right direction to maximize the movement. Also, the solder joints for the whirlpool arm also collect residue that slows down cleaning. As a one stop solution to chilling and whirlpooling though, this is hard to argue with.

One word of caution: This is big! It didn't fit in my 7 gallon turkey pot which necessitated buying a larger 15 gallon pot, although it will just barely fit in a 10 gallon pot. Make sure to check your pot dimensions! As a note, MoreBeer also sells a taller, skinnier version for smaller diameter pots.

This is a great chiller
I have brewed for over 20 years and in that time I've used a DIY immersion chiller and also a DIY counter flow chiller which both worked decently but were in hindsight too small in tube diameter to be really fast chillers. I have used this morebeer chiller with the recirculating arm three times now on 10 gallon batches and this chiller is fast--from start to ale pitching temps below 68 in less than 15 minutes--which is at least 10 to 15 minutes less than either of the other chillers could do. I think the re-circulation of the wort greatly speeds the cooling process above and beyond the larger diameter copper tubing used in morebeer's chiller. In addition, the couple of hopstands I've done have produced hop profiles I've never before achieved. I used to dislike the wort chilling part of a brew day the most but now I almost look forward to it.

Fantastic chiller
I have gone from a DIY immersion chiller to a DIY counter flow chiller to this product over the course of over 20 years of homebrewing and without question this chiller is the best. If you want to do hopstands this will work great but even for normal chilling the recirculation accelerates the cooling process. With this chiller I can get 11 gallons of 212 degree wort to under 70 in less than 15 minutes.

Huge surface area, great product
Bought this for use with my new 1550 Morebeer Brew Sculpture. Huge surface area chills extremely quickly, however I haven't used the recirculation arm yet as the sculpture has one built into the kettle. Originally I was sent the wrong product (immersion chiller without recirc arm), but after a quick phone call one was shipped to me before I even shipped the wrong one back! Great service, as always, from Morebeer!

Half the time
This chiller cut my cooling time in half. I use a pump to for the re-circulation arm and a pond pump to re-circulate the ice water in the coils. Great product.

Great Product But Beware
Great chiller! I've had mine for about four years and absolutely love it! It's easy to set up, and unbelievably efficient.

After about 60 or 70 batches however, my chiller did suffer some metal fatigue which eventually resulted in the coil splitting wide open! The problem area is right at the spot where there is a bend just before the three lines split off.

Obviously this is a big time problem that I will have to address. I'll probably splice in a new section of copper tubing and solder it all back together. In the meantime, I've decided to simply purchase a new one. Not happy the old one broke but these chillers work so great I'm okay with buying another.

Great upgrade.
Works! Typically it takes 15 minutes max to cool from boiling to yeast tossing temperature. More importantly for me, I can use with a hop stand. After I hit the temperature I want I stop the water running through the coils and just allow the re-circulation to continue for about 20 minutes and then start the heat exchange part again. This has really increased my hop flavor and aroma in my IPAs. I'm also seeing a lot better clarity from my beer using this chiller instead of the old one without the re-circulation. I had to adjust the angle of the re-circulation arm, but since it is copper that was easy.
