Description

If you think Amber Ale, there's an obvious name that comes to mind: Fat Tire.  Well this Fat Tire clone recipe boasts the same flavor and color of it's internationally famous commercial version!  Using the simple combination of Crystal 75L & Victory steeping malts provides a very easy to drink & balanced Amber Ale.  This is one of those beers that can be enjoyed by almost any beer enthusiast!

Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. The recommended yeast(s) can be found below. All grains will come milled.

WLP001 - White Labs California Ale
WY1056 - Wyeast American Ale
GY001 - GigaYeast NorCal Ale #1
IYA07 - Imperial Flagship

Please Note: In order to better serve our customers, we are now offering our extract recipe kits with either Liquid Malt Extract (LME) or Dried Malt Extract (DME). The majority of our DME kits were converted from the LME version, which is why you may notice slight variances in the extract names and quantities on your recipe sheet. You may also find that your Specific Gravity and ABV% are slightly higher if you choose DME. Whether LME or DME, add all extracts provided according to the recipe sheet. For further details, please reference the conversion chart below.

The directions seem to call for a 20 minute boil. That correct?
William Johnsen on Mar 28, 2018

good stuff
I brewed it up, used 2 yeast packs sprinkled on top and only did one fermenter for about 2+ weeks, then bottled. Gave a couple away to co-workers, they were impressed with it also.
Definetly a due over.

Good but not my favorite
This extract kit was good but not great. A solid Amber Ale, but I brewed it twice and both times felt as though it was more inclined to expose the weaker elements of extract brewing than a number of other extract kits.
Don't get me wrong, both batches were consumed and doing so wasn't unpleasant....but I recommend the Pompous Ass kit over this kit if you are looking for a good Amber!

Very tasty easy drinking amber ale. The safale dry yeast does a fine job with finishing this one.
