(Makes 5 gallons) A very well balanced Pale Ale. You can taste the malt and the hops without being overpowered by the bitterness. We use Crisp Maris Otter malt for a drier finishing Pale Ale. We differ from the standard British Pale Ale recipes by throwing in a 1/2 of Munich for a little roundness of flavor and 1/2 pound of Carapils for added body. The crystal malt used is British Carastan. Northern Brewer hops are really mellow and not at the front of the flavor profile.
