Description

This Duotight fitting with 1/4" male thread is a great option for connecting gas line to regulators and manifolds that have 1/4" FPT. Comes with seated O-ring. Compatible with EVABarrier 8 mm OD Tubing (D1717 & D1718). 
 
Duotight fittings are high-quality push-in fittings that seal tight and offer superior sealing capacity due to the double O-ring sealing design.
 
High Performance Double O-Ring Design:
The secret to Duotight’s superior sealing performance comes from the fact that they use not one, but two high-quality EPDM O-rings.  The double O-ring means they have literally twice the sealing surface when compared with other push-in fittings.  This makes them more reliable and significantly reduces the chance of leakage.
 
The double O-ring system also means that tubing can be bent at a much tighter radius without causing leaking issues, which can be an issue with other fittings.  This combination of factors makes Duotight the most reliable push-in fittings on the market.
 
EPDM offers excellent chemical resistance for a longer life span. When compared with silicone and vinyl, EPDM has much better gas transmission rates, better wear resistance, and is BPA-free.
 
No Clamps Necessary!
We recommend cutting your tubing straight, not on an angle, to ensure the line forms a complete seal. To remove the fitting simply push in the collet and the hose can be removed.

1/4" BPS (19 TPI) isn't the same as 1/4" NPT (18 TPI). Will they still create an effective coupling? Will gas leak at something less than the rated 150 psi?

BEST ANSWER: These fittings will still create an effective seal. The included o-ring gives and extra sense of security when using higher pressure applications.

BEST ANSWER: Might work as but its not a true Bulkhead fitting which would have the backing plate and seal with nut.....Instead I'd Go here Canuck home brew supply as they have bulkheads and more... Hope this helps with your project.

Instead of trying to mate this BSP fitting to a NPT fitting, shouldn't we just get the H853, which is actually NPT? Then a regular DUO106 should screw right on the male flare from the H853? I'm suspicious of trying to use a BSP male in an NPT female.

BEST ANSWER: That makes sense to me. But I gave up on Duotight. Tubing too stiff. Leaks at fittings if you put any side force since you're depending on o-rings for a seal. Barb fittings with clamps or flare fittings are more reliable in my experience.

BEST ANSWER: The fitting won’t have any issue with it for degradation, but there is a minor concern with it for design. First, the threads are not directly compatible. You’ll need a reducer bushing threaded 1/2” male NPT on the outside and 1/4” female NPT on the inside. Plastic recommended, get some good pipe tape like Blue Monster. Use three wraps, and be careful not to cross-thread it. The Duotight fitting is BSP, not NPT, though they are theoretically compatible. As it is a straight thread instead of a taper, the rubber sealing gasket at the base provides the seal, instead of the interface of the tapered pipe threads. You may need a small amount of pipe tape, but try it without first, you may get a good seal on your first shot.

Good luck, I’m really happy with these Duotight fittings, and am gradually getting rid of everything else.
Anyone have luck using these 1/4 male threads with the Elite Series Four Product Secondary Regulator? It appears to have 4 gas out barbs screwed into 1/4 female threads, probably NPT not BSP like this is. But the gas into the regulator... the threads are reversed.... turn left to tighten instead of right. Does Duotight make a male 1/4 threaded connect that turns left to tighten? I'd like all the connects to this regulator to be Duotight.... trying to avoid worm clamps and barbs entirely.

Decent, but harder to seal then some others
Little more finicky than the other duotight fittings I used. Also, could not get to fit on one of my secondary regulators input due to the rim on the bolt and the angle of the input making a seal impossible. Worked on my primary output well.

Great for short 200mm thermowells in bucket lids
I use tandem short thermowells in my brew buckets. great with any length 7mm SS immersion wells. Standard bucket with 2 wells, (1 for external monitoring, 1 for controller), heating pad, and cooling source=commercial level control in a basement cave.
