Chugger Pump - Polysulphone

Chugger Pump - Polysulphone

Item currently out of stock

The Chugger lineup of brewing pumps represents a great value for an even better price. These pumps are workhorses in the brewery. Featuring a robust flow rate of 7 gpm, and a magnetic drive designed to handle back-pressure, these pumps are a great addition to any brewing setup! Use this to ease transfers between kettles, cool wort via a counterflow chiller, or recirculate icewater for quicker chilling!

The Chugger pump has 1/2" mpt inlet and outlet, allowing easy configuration for any application! We recommend setting these pumps up with a ball valve on the outflow side, this way you can throttle down the outgoing flow rate, allowing for more efficient sparges or cooling. The pump head can also be rotated 360° (in 90° intervals) allowing for even more customization.

  • Polysulfone Head
  • Food Grade up to 250° F
  • 1/2" mpt inlet and outlet
  • High Flow rate of 7 gpm
  • Max Head 18.9 ft.
  • 115v 55" cord and plug attached
  • 50/60 Hz, 1.4 amp
  • 1/20 HP, 3500 RPM
  • Rotatable head for custom configuration

Note: When using silicone tubing, we recommending using a slighlty larger barb than the I.D. of the tubing. This is because silicone tubing tends to have greater pliability than most tubing. For example, when using 1/2" silicone tubing, we recommend our 5/8" barb (H620), to help ensure a better seal!

It’s good. Solid pump
My plans when buying the pump were to transfer Sap from a 55 gallon drum up to a holding tank on top of a table. So, lets say 20 feet of run, with 8 feet of rise. It wouldn’t pull it without priming. So I would have to fill the tube with either sap or water to make it air free.
I don’t believe it’s an issue with the pump, it’s more of what/how I am using it, being that’s not what it’s made for. I am sure if you have back pressure this thing will operate flawlessly. It’s a solid pump.

Gets the job done
As other people mentioned, just be careful with the threads as not to strip them. Pump works great! I am happy with my purchase.

Great pumps
I purchased 2 of these for my custom half barrel single tier system. They are mounted @ 9 inches bellow my kettles. They work great for circ, transfer and vorloft. I have 1 Polly and one stainless head unit. My only issue has been with the stainless. Dont know why but even after flushing with hot water at the end of a session, the stainless gets gummed up and has to be stripped down for a full cleaning? All in all a cost effective solution and I highly recommend them.

Great Pump
This pump is solid. Works like a charm. It has a warranty for only 6 months, which has me a little worried, but so far no complaints.

Great Pump
This is my second Chugger Pump, both have performed very well with NO issues. Flow rate is great and I haven't had any issues with the Polysulfone Head. I have been careful to not overtighten connections so as to not strip any threads. Eventually it would be nice to upgrade to the steel head, but for now this does the job perfectly at a great price.

Great pump as long as you prime it
I use one of these for transferring heated water to my HLT, whirlpooling, recirculating through my wort cooler, transferring to carboys, etc. and it always works great. Just make sure you prime it before starting it to avoid damaging it.

Makes brew day easier!
I use it to recirculate my wort when chilling with the Immersion Chiller with Recirculation Arm that I bought from More Beer also. Also use it for recirculating my mash and transferring to my brew kettle. Works great!
