Are you a homebrewer interested in expanding your fermentation hobby?  Well, why not jump into winemaking!  Our wine kits are an excellent way to make high quality wine at home, without requiring all of the large equipment that wineries use.  We have dozens to choose from, so no matter what your favorite type of wine, we're certain to have a kit you'll like!

Cellar Craft's Showcase Series red wine kits include a huge 18L of varietal juice and concentrate! Additionally, Cellar Craft is the only kit manufacturer who includes a crushed skin pack made from over 12lb of entirely new, fresh, never-processed skins that come from the same harvest lot as the juice in your kit. These skins have more tannin and flavor to impart in the wine and are 100% true to the varietal that you're making. This unique practice in the wine kit industry may cost a little more to produce, but we think you'll agree that the results are well worth it!

Like other kits on the market, Cellar Craft's Showcase Series red wine kits come with all the ingredients you'll need to make a great wine out of the box. However, we encourage you to also experiment with different yeast strains and oak styles to create a wine that is exactly what you're looking for and truly unique.

While technically ready to bottle and drink in 6 weeks, Cellar Craft recommends aging these wines for 1 year or more to see full development of the wine's character. Choose to age in the carboy if you want the opportunity to play around with acidity and finishing tannins later, or age in the bottle to see what you get straight from the manufacturer. Just be careful - we all know how hard it is to keep your hands off once the wine's in the bottle!

Makes 6 gallons, or 2 cases, of finished wine

Cellar Craft's Description

Old Vines, Ferrero Vineyards, Lodi California
Multiple medal winner!
Direct from the vineyard in Lodi where sandy, clay loam soil, hot days, cool nights and 35 year old vines combine to produce unique grapes bursting with complex, concentrated flavors. Exhibits silken layers of multidimensional delight. It starts with an up-front core of blackberry and dark cherry aromas, followed by suggestions of blueberry, raspberry, cranberry and dried plum. Undertones are of chocolate, almond and exotic spice. Ends with an unmistakable black pepper sensation. Enjoy your first bottles after 2-3 months when the powerful fruit flavours dominate. However, do cellar some for months, or years, to experience a more refined balance and the vast array of characteristics which time integrates into harmonized waves of complexity.

Great Stuff!
Age this stuff for best results! Seriously...take your time with this and bulk age in the carboy for as long as you can (12 months) and then another 12 months in the bottle before you drink it. It's worth it!

Excellent Full-bodied Red
This is the second time I've made this kit and we just love it. We typically make wine from grapes purchased from Lodi and so at first we were skeptical about the quality of a kit. However, we were pleasantly surprised that this is every bit as good as wine from grapes. The grape skins included add a good deal of body along with the included oak chips. Although we start drinking it after just a few months, the portion we bottle continues to improve over 12-18 months.

This kit produced some very good zinfandel, although it was extremely dry. We added some sugar after clarification and settling and that actually improved it.

Wow!!! Robust and needs age
I has been about a month and a half since bottling and this wine is harsh. It has no off flavors but it is alcohol hot and is extremely bold. Not what I was expecting. Definitely a little age will go a long way.

Great wine, but you gotta wait a while
Made this in April. Bottled it in June. It was my first wine kit ever. I've been making beer for 20 years. I tasted some after five months. I had some a month ago as well. It's still a young wine, but wow! It's just getting better and better. You can taste how good it will be at the one year mark. I can't wait! I have no regrets about this kit. I will for sure be making another one in 2017, since I can see my wife and I going through this wine pretty quickly once it's really good.

Wait Two Years
Good wine is for the impatient. Great wine rewards those that can wait two years of aging! Give this wine a good swirl at two and a half years and this Zinfandel rewards brandy-like aroma followed by blackberry raspberry cherry and spring like flowery notes. A candy like tartness follows the warm feeling of a full bodied wine that ends slightly sweet. I bulk age in glass in a cool below grade garage. No sunlight, and only slight seasonal temperature changes help this wine mature. I don't add oak because I like that dominant fruity flavor a Zinfandel should probably be. I use a good vino wine pump and filter to produce a deep ruby colored wine.
I love this wine and will start again this fall.

Great Wine Kit!
I love this kit! With proper aging and care, this rivals a $30 bottle of Old Zin. I like these Cellar Craft kits better than wine expert because of the added grape skins. I feel that the quality is better and overall a better experience. Before bottling I cold stabilized this wine for two weeks. Due to the added grape skins and seeds, these kits throw a lot of sediment so be patient before bottling unless your okay with sediment in the bottle. Really starts to taste nice after 4 months in the bottle but longer will prove to be worth the while. This wine is quite harsh when young but it mellows out quick.
Overall I really enjoy this kit and will be ordering another. I am proud to call this wine my own so most of it I have given away as gifts with many compliments. I need to start another batch soon so I don't run out of a good quality Zin!

Very nice!
Made this kit last year. First samples were good, but after 6-8 months, it did improve nicely. Good reviews from everyone who got a bottle. Additional AM Oak cubes were used during bulk aging. Will definitely make this kit again.
