Description

Keep your fermentation temperature in check with the BrewBuilt CoolStix™ for Speidel 30L Fermenter! Temperature control is one the most important aspects of a healthy, happy fermentation. When your fermenting beer gets too hot, the yeast will likely impart off-flavors that can easily overwhelm the taste of your finished beer. The CoolStix™ is a revolutionary cooling solution for homebrew fermentations. It is easy to clean, easy to setup, and cools quickly and efficiently.

You will also need a cold water source to provide the cooling solution. For maintaining ale temperatures, a cooler or bucket of ice water is sufficient in most cases. For maintaining lagering temperatures or cold crashing, we recommend the Icemaster 100 Glycol Chiller.

We include a Speidel replacement spigot (FE785) so you can use the orange locking nut to install the CoolStix™.

For a complete kit with all the necessary pieces, check out the BrewBuilt CoolStix™ for Speidel 30L with Pump Kit.

Coolstix does work on the Speidel 60L
I have the 60LSpeidel fermenter. The 30L Coolstix works surprisingly well in the 60L. I always make approx. 11gallons of mash so approx. 1/2 only approx. of the CS is in the mash. I made a water chiller out of a small window AC it works fantastic as well (plans on youtube). The circulating pump is plugged in and controlled with a dual heating/cooling thermostat.
Now for the negative. When I receved my Coolstix I was in need of it because my shop was 100 F. When I cut the sealed bag of parts open it was missing the quick connect hose fitting. I called to report the problem and as of the writting I still have not received the parts. I could no longer wait so I silver soldered (2) SS 3/8" x1/2" barbed fitting to the Coolstix. I had to shorten the barbed fitting on the lower tube to get the locking cap over the fittings but like I said, I works surprisingly well. I keeps my mash at 78 F even if the shop is 100F.
So yes it does work in the 60L fermenter. I longer may be more efficient but it works just fine!
