Outstanding alt bier!
This comes out perfect! Nice bready roasty notes. Great mouth feel and head retention. Smooth and low enough ABV to be sessionable. Still drinking this after 2.5 months in the keg, and it tastes just as good, if not better. WIll make again. Good enough to become a house beer.

Great Alt Bier!
Its a different grist than what I have used for my past Alts. I've read that many breweries in Dusseldorf have different base malts for their alts so I wanted to try this version with a pilsner base. The past have been Munich as the base. The hops are a good combination but if I make it again I will try spalt throughout. I didn't know what to expect from a pound of crystal and 4oz of chocolate but it blends very well. Tastes pretty close to the ones I have had while in Dusseldorf. Mashed at 149. Fermented at 64 with 1007 for 4 weeks. Kegged and forced carbed to 2.4 vols over 2 weeks. Its a huge hit with everyone. They all comment on the smoothness. You wont regret brewing this beer!
